And in those moments, I felt like I was failing… at everything. As moms, the pressure to be everything to everyone—while maintaining our sanity—can feel crushing. Some days, I wonder if I’m doing enough as a mother, a partner, an employee, a friend… and especially, for myself. But what’s changed everything for me? Self-compassion. Not just the fluffy kind you read in a quote. I mean actionable, daily practices that ground me when I feel like I'm unraveling. 1. I Talk to Myself Like I’d Talk to My Best Friend

When I mess up, my inner voice used to sound like a mean girl. Now, I’ve learned to pause and ask:

“Would I say this to my best friend if she forgot her kid’s lunchbox or missed a meeting?”

Instead of “You’re so irresponsible,” I say,
